Join a School Mental Health Community

We know that collaboration makes for stronger systems of support! Here are some opportunities to connect with a larger school mental health community in Wisconsin.

This group is for mental health clinicians operating in a school setting and working with school-aged youth. The Clinicians’ Community of Practice gathers monthly online with the addition of an experienced consultant to discuss best practices, challenges, and resources for support in their daily practice.

What are School-Based Clinicians? This refers to mental health therapists (and those in training) who work within a school setting or as a community provider with a contract or MOU with a school or district. School-Based Clinicians provide direct therapeutic services to individual students or selected groups. In some schools, this position may also carry other responsibilities as determined by the districts’ needs.

The Clinicians meet on the 4th Monday of the month during the academic year: 3-4pm CST.
“Navigators” go by many names and refer to those in a school community helping students and families connect to resources and facilitate communication between teachers, staff, families, and providers. The Navigators’ Community of Practice gathers monthly online for an opportunity for Navigators to connect on best practices, challenges, and share resources.
Navigators meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month during the academic year: 12-1pm CST.
The Policy Committee works to create and adapt policy, engage in legislative activities to fund expanded school mental health programs, and advocates on behalf of the Coalition for Expanding School-Based Mental Health in Wisconsin.
The Policy Committee meets on the 3rd Monday of every OTHER month from 4-5pm CST.
